Come and visit The Hill at our Heritage Open Day

You can come and visit The Hill at an open day in conjunction with Heritage Open Days and Vigilantia Lodge (Stroud Masons) this September.

It is a chance to discover the history of this beautiful 17th century Stroud building, have a tour of the venue, including the grounds and venue spaces, and find out about hiring the building for your own event.

The Heritage Open Day will be held on Saturday, 9 September, from 10am – 4pm. It’s free to attend, refreshments will be available and tours of the building will be run by Stroud Masons, who own the building.

The Hill is a 17th century stone-built merchant’s house, dating from 1634 when it was substantially rebuilt for Thomas Webb ‘de Hill’ and is now Grade 2 listed. The building’s high vantage point commands beautiful views towards the hills above Randwick and in the far distance the Forest of Dean.

The refurbishments and improvements in recent years to the building, including kitchens and dining areas makes The Hill a superb centrally located venue for weddings, corporate events, private parties and all hospitality requirements. It also has a dedicated Masonic Temple (c1963), the home to ten of Gloucestershire’s Masonic Lodges, which is also licensed for civil ceremonies.
