Weddings

The Hill is a real hidden gem in Stroud. It is located right in the heart of the town, and yet it is private and secluded, with stunning hill-top views of the surrounding area. This 17th century building has plenty of charming period features, and beautiful landscaped gardens.

The Dining Room

Our dining room is the main event space, it can hold up to 100 people seated for your day time reception, and up to 120 people for an evening party. With large windows on either side, it is a light and airy room, with neutral decoration, which is the perfect backdrop for any wedding theme or style.

In the evening, the room opens up as a great party space for either discos or live music. A modern lighting system allows a range of lighting modes and colours in the room.

The Gardens

The gardens to the rear of the property are classically landscaped and include original stone steps leading up to the house. For larger weddings, or if your preference is to have some of your wedding outside, the rear garden is a good space for a marquee. At the front of the building, the original wood door is a popular location for photos, and we have some unique, original stone arches perfect for photo opportunities.

Ceremonies

The Hill is licensed for civil ceremonies and civil partnerships. The dining room space is set up in an aisle design for this purpose. We do have the option of upgrading to our spectacular and unique Grand Lodge Room, a traditional Masons’ meeting room. Marquee weddings

If you want to have a larger wedding or just like the idea of having your wedding in the grounds of The Hill, you can have a marquee in the back gardens of The Hill, connected to the building so your guests can flow between the two spaces. Marquees are an additional cost, but you can seat 150 people within the marquee.
